Her boyfriend unknowingly called the Sacramento Life Center Mobile Clinic

Two smiling women in Sacramento Life Center's Mobile Clinic

My name is Brandi Metz, and I decided to visit the Sacramento Life Center’s Mobile Medical Clinic a few weeks into my pregnancy.

At that time, I was single, going to college, and was working two jobs to make ends meet.

My boyfriend wanted me to have an abortion.

He had seen the Sac Valley Mobile Medical Clinic on Franklin Boulevard every Saturday, and not realizing that they don’t do abortions or refer for them, he called the number on the side of the vehicle and made an appointment for me.

For those who don’t know, the Life Center is a nonprofit organization that offers help, healing support and resources for women, and they did just that for me!

I was having a difficult time deciding whether or not I should get an abortion.  I was scared and unaware of the all the effects it could have on me.  I didn’t know anything about the development of the baby either.

I really needed advice from someone with whom I could discuss my options and life concerns.

My entire experience on the Mobile Clinic was extremely wonderful and I was taken care of very well.

Unlike other clinics I had dealt with prior to my pregnancy, as well as clinics I have been to since my appointment at the Life Center, I was taken in on time, I was in comfortable surroundings, the staff was well-mannered, and they had an amazing peer counselor on site.

They did not judge me, rush me, or treat me like I was just the next person in line.

My counselor, Gloria, actually took time to hear my story and truly listen to what I had to say.  She offered constructive feedback.  She set me at ease by offering other resources and referrals that would help me after my visit.

She really cared!

I am proud to say that my beautiful baby boy, Nikko, was born in February of 2013.

All I can say is thank you Sacramento Life Center for restoring my confidence and turning my struggle into a new beginning!
