See DOC Run...A 50k for Sac Life Moms!
The doctor is back and running better (and farther) than ever! Last year, Dr. Timothy Phelan ran 25 miles from his OB/GYN office in Folsom, along the American River to the Sac State Bridge, and then headed north to the Sacramento Life Center, located at 2316 Bell Executive Lane in the Arden/Arcade area. With this "almost" half marathon, he raised over $2,500. This year, he is doubling the distance and setting a goal to "double his money!" He is hoping to raise $5,000 with the help of his family, staff, and supporters of the Sacramento Life Center.
WHY RUN? "Life is precious. But not all women have access to the support and resources they need for a healthy pregnancy and baby. The Sacramento Life Center offers a safe place for women to find the compassion and support they need to become a parent. As an obstetrician for over 20 years, I see daily how precious life is and I support the Sacramento Life Center’s mission. That is why, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I created the Sacramento Life Center 50K Solo Charity Run. By running solo 50 kilometers or 31.1 miles from Granite Bay Beach to the Life Center in the Arden-Arcade neighborhood on March 13, 2021 I hope to raise money to help keep women healthy during their pregnancies, making sure they get the medical help they need, as well as providing prenatal vitamins, health education and more." -Dr. Phelan

Dr. Phelan's Bio: Dr. Timothy E. Phelan, an Ob/Gyn physician who practices at Creekside Ob/Gyn of Folsom, has taken care of thousands of women and delivered hundreds of babies. In his free time he challenges himself by running long distances. In the last 10 years he has completed over 50 competitive running events, including 10 road marathons (26.2 miles) and 17 ultra-marathons. Races are a great way to raise money for worthy causes, but with the current pandemic many races have been canceled. So Dr. Phelan has created his own Sacramento Life Center Solo 50 K Charity Run. Donations will go to expand Health and Nutrition classes for new moms at the Sacramento Life Center.
Follow the Trail: Leaving from Granite Bay Beach at 6 am Saturday March 13, he will run 50 kilometers, or 31.1 miles, to the Sacramento Life Center office in the Arden-Arcade neighborhood. Leaving the bike trail near Cal Expo he will finish at the near by Sacramento Life Center arriving around 1:00 pm
